RESOLVING ISSUES AND REDUCING CONFLICT.
Community Restorative Justice Ireland Newry/Armagh was founded in 1999 to promote a non-violent, non-confrontational approach to crime and anti-community behaviour. The key principles that our organisation was founded on — respect, fairness, accountability, and inclusion — are still at the core of the work we do today. Starting as a small, grassroots, community-led group, we have now expanded to deliver our mediation and conflict resolution services across Newry, South Armagh, and their border hinterlands.
This involves active engagement by community members as mediators and facilitators in dispute resolution. We also work in partnership with multiple statutory, community, and voluntary agencies: Housing Executive, Social Services, DHSS, PCSP, PSNI, PBNI, community associations, youth groups, women's groups, and festival organisations. We endeavor to empower communities to improve their quality of life and utilise non-violent solutions to reduce the incidents of socially harmful activity.
